Necessary changes for Zapata Telephony Radio Interface, Rev. A Electrically the board works just fine, there are just some silk screen and mechanical changes necessary. Silk Screen: "J3 Pinouts" Pin 6 - Change from "N/C" to "Tx CTCSS Out" Pin 9 - Change from "PL Decode" to "CTCSS Decode" (We should be politically correct and not so Motorola-centric) :-) The Silk Screen function designations for S3 and S4 are backwards. S3 Really is the PL Ena/Dis and S4 really is the De-emphasis In/Out. The plus sign for C2 is on the wrong lead. Mechanical: The pin spacing on the 2 position jumpers is less then .100 inch. The lever of S4 sticks out beyond the lower edge of the board. The position of the mounting holes put the board exactly in the center of the case. This is incorrect. They need to be moved so that the 9 pin connector and the 2 modulars stick through the front panel, and that the upper edge of the PC board butts up against the inside edge of the front panel. In the BOM, the jumpers are listed as ED16064-ND. This is an incorrect part number. The correct part number is A26513-ND. The CTCSS Encoder/Decoder Connector (J4) is oriented in a manner which causes the wiring to the PL board to have to "flip over" itself. Reverse the orientation of J4 (so that red wire, pin 1, is towards the top of the board).
